As a “Münchner Kindl” (born and raised in Munich) I started my studies of human medicine in Cologne. Via Würzburg I returned to Munich and finished my studies here. I began my six-year training as a specialist in orthopaedics and trauma surgery at the Clinic and Polyclinic for Orthopaedics, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation of the Ludwig-Maximilians-University. During this time I spent two years at the Helios Klinik München-Perlach. There I was trained as a trauma surgeon and was on duty as an emergency doctor for Munich. I completed my training in 2013 with the specialist for orthopaedics and trauma surgery.

During my training I was able to specialize in all aspects of knee and shoulder joint surgery very early on. This deep interest is also reflected in my scientific work. Numerous publications on the subject, my habilitation work on tendon regeneration at the shoulder joint as well as fellowships of the ESSKA (European Society of Sports Traumatology, Knee Surgery and Arthroplasty) and AGA (Society for Arthroscopic and Joint Surgery) testify to my in-depth understanding of this subject.
